Join us for the Summer Teacher Institute, a two-day professional development opportunity for K-12 educators to connect with colleagues, delve into the rich tapestry of human history, and curate meaningful educational experiences for their students.
Bridge academic research and K-12 education in meaningful and transformative ways by exploring innovative ways to integrate cultural heritage into your teaching. Presented in collaboration with the Penn Cultural Heritage Center, this immersive program highlights community-centered approaches to heritage preservation and storytelling, social justice, and inquiry-based learning. Educators will gain practical strategies for fostering global competencies, designing student-led discussions, and building sustainable community partnerships. Through expert-led sessions and gallery-based learning, you will develop resources to inspire students as active participants in cultural heritage preservation.
A limited number of scholarships are available for educators from Title 1 schools. Apply here.

I was highly impressed with the Summer Teacher Institute. I learned so much and I'm so excited to go back to share what I learned. It was highly organized, time spent felt meaningful and used appropriately. I can't wait to attend again!
