Coarse ware, crude, angular shoulder, cylindrical neck. Small; with barbaric face, perhaps of a skull with dead head.

Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jug with a carinated body, effigy-anthropomorphic neck, missing rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. The cup has a face on the neck, possibly of an animal or of a skeletal face. The ears, nose, and mouth are modeled in clay and added while the details are incised and excised with some punctate dots on the side of the face. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing and reducing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is gray and orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1205."
