Description | Small, W/Orange Rim. pointed basket; well made with very narrow strips of oak(?); one side of basket seems slightly higher than other; twilled plaiting; body has 3 under 3 over weave, top- above side points- has 4 under 4 over weave. RIm is finished by braiding strips with a third strip added here only- it is shiny and dyed orange; could be palmetto leaf. Dye comes from puccoon or Texas oak and black gum. |
