Description | Spreading ring foot. Body profile expands widely and steeply from foot to low, offset rim. Horizontal handles, slightly tilted upward, set at point of greatest diameter. Black glaze is probably much "improved" with modern paint. Black: exterior of foot and lower wall; outer parts of handles (dipped?); exterior of lip and all of interior. On wall, A & B, are three large upright palmettes. Buff clay, purplish at break. |
