Description

Bottom formed by a thickening of the wall 0.11m. in diam. with a conical depression in the center 0.05 m. in diam. Wide body, gtst. diam. at mid-point, its profile a continuous convex curve interrupted only by a pair of prominent ridges just above mid-point and a band of "combed" wheel-run incised lines just above level of handle attachments. Neck ca. 0.10 m. in diam. at base not distinctly articulated. It is concave in profile, the lip bevelled, slope toward the outside. Vertical thick strap handles attached at mid-shoulder and upper neck. A roughly circular stamp on upper part of one handle, the outline scalloped, points inward; two letters, 0.015 and 0.01 in ht. respectively, separated by a period: K.Z. Thick clay, brown to russet, with some very fine mica, the exterior, and the interior of the neck, covered by a reddish to brown slip which has flaked away on one handle and part of neck. Intact.
