Description | Figured sarong (tembe salunka). An everyday sarong, with an unusual motif of owls. Predyed synthetic. Made in 1981, probably in a village just south of Bima town. Collected in Rasa Na'e, Bima Town. Bright blue with an overall pattern of owls in light orange supplementary weft. Back panel lighter blue with owls connected in groups of three. Border of pyramids/tumpal at bottom. Some small holes. |
