Description | Pottery; painted. Small; spheroidal with long tapering neck Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, tapered neck, rounded rim, no handles, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted with a black four-point star around the neck with a field of white with black spots on the top half of the body. The neck is painted with black triangles on a white background. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2121." |
