Description | Of European calico dyed [tie-and-dye] with "gara". See 37-22-63. The "tying" is shown. The characteristic, and still the commonest, wear for women is a cloth, usually now of European manufacture, wrapped around the body, above or below the breasts, and tucked in by the corners at the top. It reaches to the knees or below. Sometimes a smaller cloth, like the men's loin-cloth, is worn about the hips under this. Various forms and modifications of European garments are commonly worn. |
