Description

Three dimensional puppet with wooden torso, wooden head, wooden arms, articulated at shoulder and elbows, cotton skirt from waist down. Puppet is held and operated by a wooden stick which passes through a hole in the torso and into the base of the head and by sticks attached to the hands.Enormous head with tall headdress. Flesh colored face, rest of skin gold (badly chipped). Bulging round red eyes, large upturned nose, four fands. Black hair in curls at back, headdress with crown, ear ornaments, high red top. Red and blue ornaments at upper arms and wrists. Wrists flexed. Protruding chest and stomach. Short brown velvet chest cover, edged with gold braid. Gold sash. Batik skirt; cream with overall pattern of smlal circles with blue and brown birds, flowers. Red band with flowers and leaves around hem.
