Description | Wall hanging made of plain-weave cotton dyed indigo blue, embroidered in multicolorfloss silk (heer) and two-ply cotton thread (white) in herringbone stitches, stem stitch (red outlines) plaited fly stitch (muvvala), and mirror work stitches. The main indigo square is finished with buttonhole stitch. There is a tiny strip of patterned red fabric showing in one of the applique borders that is the same as one of the roller printed fabric backings on 89-19-375. Decorated with mirrored glass and a star-like motif embroidered in white, yellow, green, blue, and maroon colored thread and with circular mirrored glass. Embroidered area is surrounded by borders of tiedyed purple, maroon, green and beige strips of cloth. Beige colored cloth backing. Compare with 89-13-369 & 89-13-370. |
