Description | Red ware painted with bird pattern. Fragmentary- base and neck parts. Wide mouthed vessel with a carinated body, hyperboloid collar, outward sloping rim, no handles, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted with bands around the body and neck in white, red, and black. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange and buff in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2309." |
