Description | 25 pieces. Neck amphora. A, Two nude youths, each with a jumping weight in each hand. B. L to R, maenad and satyr, each with castanet (?) in each hand. No incision or color. Below each handle a grouping of 5 large palmettes, 2 large glaze disks encircled by a line of dots and an inverted lotus (?) flower. Top of base glazed. Ray pattern around lower wall. Broad band serves as ground line for figured scenes. Tongue pattern radiates from base of neck. On neck A and B, two palmettes, one inverted. Lip black. Triple handles, both of which may be restored or at least repainted. Seemingly complete. |
