Description

Buddhist manuscript of sixteen loose-leaf pages of cloth and lacquer. Script in tamarind seed writing of black lacquer, extracts from the Pali Viniya text (monastic rules). Two wooden covers in red and gold lacquer decorated with swirling foliage and devas. Thin red string holds manuscript together through hole pierced in covers and leaves.
