Description | Oblong gift cover (fukusa); dark blue satin with red crepe edge and lining. Embroidered fisherman riding on a tortoise (minogame 蓑亀) from the story of "Urashima Taro". He is seen returning home from the Dragon King's Palace, visible in the top right corner. This may have been made for celebrating one's retirement. 1750-1800 CE. |
