Description | Brown polished clay decorated with white glaze. Figure is sitting cross-legged with a small bowl (diam 4.5cm) resting on left leg. Arms are also resting on legs. The man's only clothing is a white, striped skirt. Belly is protruding. There is a line of white around stomach. Three clay coils, striped with white, around each forearm (arm bands). Coils of white glaze are around each breast. Eyes and mouth are painted. Wearing large button earrings spotted with white. Nose is long and protrudes out from face. Headdress is unglazed and thinly scored for texture. |
