Description | S-shaped sickle with serpent-like face carved at one end. Sickle consists of three pieces of wood and blade joined together with black substance. Handle is of golden brown wood with the serpent-like face carved of a darker brown wood. Blade is severely rusted. Wire band around handle. Used for cutting the first rice of the harvest season to be offered to rice goddess. Wire band no longer present. |
