Description

Earliest type of lute made. Several sticks are fixed to lower edge of sound box, each one serving as neck or tension rod to one natural fiber string. Body is boat-shaped, made of wood, with primitive carved designs on 2 sides. Skin resonating head does not completely cover body. Poor condition. Strings broken, resonating head and one side of body missing.
