Description | Tall alabastron with flaring mouth and no handles. Fine, unevenly colored light reddish brown (2.5 YR 6/4) clay, with decoration in red to black paint. Wiped with water. Band on rim, inside and out; bands on upper shoulder, body, and bottom of body; frieze of crocus blossoms on upper shoulder. Restored from fragments; some sherds missing. The sketchy floral motif is typical of the period. Compare Hawes et al. 1908: pl. 8, no. 10 (Gournia). For the shape in LM IB see Sackett and Popham 1970: fig. 15, no.
