Painting in red-black-white Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, bulging neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted with bands of geometric designs ("frog" and "bird" patterns) in two bands around the body in white, black, red, orange, and purple. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1563." |
