Description | Globular body, tulip neck, broken: two vertical loop handles shoulder to neck. painted. Painting similar to 26937 Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, missing neck, missing rim, 2 strap handles extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted over a white slip with black stripes. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Evidence of usewear includes black staining on the interior. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1092." |
