Description | Ornamented Gourds with burnt decoration. Used for storage of small articles; some were also used for storing oil. Stem end cut out. Mutilated. Brass-headed nail. Incised and blackened geometric decoration of four large X's which encircle gourd (double lined). Each X is seperated by a column of etched arrows, pointing up. A brass tack is found on one part of rim. A piece of plant fiber is found in the corner of one of the points Lid missing. |
