Description | Woven with gauze bands. Difficult to analyze as severely degraded and fragile. Was folded in the mummy bundle (according to catalogue records) and still is. Though plain weave, there is an alternating openwork horizontal lines. Very fine work. Side seam can be seen. Appears to be a complete poncho, but difficult to read as is. Folded. Didn't unfold as the folds might be important. Also too fragile and not enough time to take the time to unfold at this time. Color(s): Poncho is off-white/undyed. |
