Description

Mourning skirt. Constructed of two equal sized panels of sago fron fibers. Longer than refular skirts. Worn by a woman in mourning for her husband. At the end of the mourning period the skirt is cut short, signifying that the woman can remarry. See Kirsh field notes for more data. made by Bumok Bumarop, Ninggimdem clan, Dome village.
