Description | Warp faced ground, embroidered in satin and stem stitch. Cotton and silk. Warp stripes, flowers and peacocks in black, white purple, orange, green and yellow. Selvedges finished. Loose twisting at one end, yellow and green threads plied together with warps at other end. Excellent condition. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 88 epi, two ply, white and black cotton. Weft: 24 ppi, black cotton. Warp faced plain weave. Embroidery. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
