| Description | Scimitar-shaped. Junction of hilt with blade is covered with closely netted cord. For the type cf. AF 1092 (Bapoto) and see Thonner, Vom Congo zum Ubangi, pl. 105, figs. at left and right, and plate 101. These are from the Bangala District, but the general type is found also among the Mangbetu and Azande. See Czekanowski, Forschungen im Nil-Kongo-Zwischengebiet, II. pp. 143-4. |
