Description | Part of a Black Stamped plate. Black glaze top and bottom. Around center three rows of rouletting the outer two rows are double, i.e. the graver has been pressed from the outside toward the center of the bowl twice in order to make the depression. This is shown by the ridge of clay running obliquely across the groove where the first stroke ended. The inner row was made with a single depression of the graver. |
