Description | Tall alabastron with two, three, or four vertical handles on upper shoulder. Clay and surface similar to MS4609. Bands on neck, body, and lower body; two friezes of paint flecks. About half preserved. For the shape compare The Cretan Collection: vol. I, no. 9 (Mochlos) and Hawes et al. 1908: pl. 9, no. 8 (Gournia, almost identical). For the decoration compare also Hawes et al. 1908: pl. 8, no. 38 (Gournia). |
