Description | Red pot, globular body, short swollen neck with everted lip, two vertical loop handles on shoulder. Encircling band of relief ornamentation, molded Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, flaring neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a band of raised dot and line decoration around the shoulder and is painted red. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2865h." |
