Description

Sommerville: Sard. Meleager, the wild-boar hunter. Gold Rings - Intaglios, Case HHH.

Vermeule: Sard. Intaglio. (Modern gold ring setting) Meleager standing left at an altar enriched with head of a boar and head of a stag. A herm of Artemis holding two torches appears on the altar and Meleager's two dogs are at his feet. Graeco-Roman.
