Description | Pottery. Deep; round bottom, ovoid body, flaring rim; two vertical loop handles on upper body; ring of impressed circles at base of neck. Wide mouthed vessel with an ovate body, flaring collar, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a conical (aribaloid) base. No molded/modeled additions. There are punched circular marks around the join between the collar and body. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere as the surface is black and the interior is gray in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the interior of collar. Black ink on the interior of collar reads: "2129." |
