Description | Small ring base, greatest diameter of body just above base, sides then contracting slightly to the shoulder; vertical neck with a large trefoil lip; loop handle connects rim and shoulder. Brown ware, black grits, red wash on outer surface and interior of lip. Fitzgerald: “Jug with trefoil lip. Brown ware, with red wash on the exterior surface. E. of Temple area” |
