Description | Ivory; fragment of pyxis with wing deeply carved for inlay; fragment of frit inlay remains. Muscarella Publication: "Two rim fragments from a bowl with two winged creatures facing outward carved in relief on the side of the vessel opposite that clasped by a lion; extant are the claws of the lion and two wings. See Muscarella 1974 for a fuller discussion and reconstruction of these fragments as a lion bowl." |
