Description | Beveled base, pear-shaped body, short neck, everted lip, one vertical loop handle. Incasic, painted white with slight ornamentation, handle off Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, hyperboloid neck, flaring, 1 horizontal strap handle on the body, and a flat base. There is a modeled snake head is added to one side of the handle and the vessel is painted with a band of diamond shapes around the center of the body. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2846." |
