Description | Insertion of tang wrapped with wire in Muller and Snelleman's Style A (Industrie des Caffres, Pl. XXVII). The pointed butt end has the hairy skin of an animal's leg or tail shrunk on; this is confined at the forward end by a ring of wire-work in M. and S's Style B. This refers to the weapon with the additional number 170. The other javelin numbered AF2135 is similar, but has not the three additional bands of wire-work. |
