Description | Long, narrow hourglass drum (kundu), with fine-grained (lizard?) skin head, bound on with coarse yellow peel, at narrow end. At broad end, incised geometric decoration or concentric lozenges, with black, white, red pigments. Whole covered with some sort of finish (pigment? mud?). Braided soft fiber tied around middle. Skin head split across, had breaks and splits at broad end. |
