Description | Bronze part of candlestick scissors: peacock. Green patina with lime incrustation. Right half of a bird is hollow with smooth edges at the back. Flat base on which the bird sits is wider and projects backward farther than the thickness of the "Half-bird". Its inner edge is original, but it was broken off at the front and back. "Half-bird" and its left counterpart would have set at the tip of each blade of a candle. Sitting bird has a tall comp and a flat, upswept tail. |
