Description

Vermeule: Chalcedony-Onyx. Cameo. (Modern gilt ring setting) Bust of Psyche facing to right, butterfly wings sprout from her hair which is bound in a Greek Vth century B.C. type head cloth. She is also wearing a sleeveless chiton about her shoulders. 19th, based generally on the ancient Sappho type portrait.
