Description | Red Ware; globular with bottle neck and two vertical loop handles with small circle impressions on shoulder. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, bulging neck, missing rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has stamped circle impressions around the shoulder. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange and brown in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "831." |
