Description | Bow. Black palmwood stave, bamboo bow string with attachment of Gnetum gnenom twine. Decorative plaited ring at top end (with shorter horn). Surface smoothed and shaped with pig tusk shaver, coated with resin. Used for hunting and fighting; also carried in dances. See Kirsch field notes for more data. made by a man from Woropko village, Irian jaya. Originally purchased by Nem Kowop of Dome village at market in Kiunga. Resold to Kirsch 8/8/88 |
