Description | Nearly complete and mended. Small lug-like excrescence where handles join rim. Clay: light gray-brown to gray-green with fine dark sand. Paint: firm dark gray. 6 groups of bars on rim, 3 groups on handles. Paint on underside of rim, on sides of handles, at base of neck and on base. 3 wide bands at widest part of belly and 3 more on lower part of body. Neck, A: a symmetrical scheme with one elaborate panel of latticed-lozenges. The elaborate panel consists of a large double-outline lattice-lozenge flanked by 4 vertical lines on one side and 3 on the other, separated from a large single-outline lozenge by a narrow black stripe. The latter lozenge is subdivided into 5 latticed-lozenges and is flanked by 3 vertical lines. Adjoining to the right are latticed-lozenges, also bordered by 3 vertical lines; B: same scheme with similar isolated vertical band. The elaborate panel has two large single-outline lozenges subdivided (as above) and with flanking "wings". |
