Description | Flat, rectangular spade/spatula with rounded handle ending in a coarse volute. A thick layer of black paint has been applied over a light terracotta fabric in order to give it the appearance of bucchero. The fabric is exposed where the paint has chipped off at both ends. The shape and coarseness of the piece suggests that it may have been made from a mould of a genuine example. |
