Description

Plaid sarong (tembe paleka). An unusually dark sarong. Coarse cotton (kafa galia), woven using traditional outdoor loom. Blue and black dye from local indigo, rust color from synthetic dyes. Machine sewn. Made in 1983, Rasa To'i hamlet. Black, with blue, rust, and white balanced plaid. Rust panel with two narrow white stripes. Rust border stripes.
