Description | Plain oval body, flaring neck, one vertical loop handle shoulder to neck and knob on neck opposite Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, flaring neck, outward sloping rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. There is a knob on the shoulder of the vessel opposite the handle and there are traces of red slip on the vessel. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange and buff in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1275b." |
