Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. There are no molded/modeled additions and no decoration. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Evidence of usewear includes residues/staining on the exterior and surface attrition on bottom/base. There is a red resinous discoloration on the exterior. The catalogue number is written on the interior of neck. No other numbers are visible on the object. |
