Description | Sachs's "bamboo Jew's harp with stepped tongue and string", of the type belonging to the [Malay] Peninsula and Archipelago, and further differentiated by having the string (with peg attached) tied to a small knob at the base of the instrument. The handle is slightly tapered; at the tip of the tongue, at the "step", and at the base, the construction is strengthed by leaving a considerable thickness of bamboo. |
