Description | Red and white plain weave cotton with faint plaid design. Two breadths joined by orange cotton thread. Heavy decorative embroidery onn upper garment with silk and cotton thread in chevrons or dots. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 50 epi, single ply, Z twist, white is of two strands, red is of three strands, cotton. Weft: 16 ppi, single ply, Z twist, white is of three strands, red is of three strands, cotton. Warp face, plain weave. Two pieces, seamed, three selvedges. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
