Description

Sommerville: Onyx. Cleopatra. Gold and Bronze Rings - Cameos, Case PPP.

Vermeule: Chalcedony-Onyx. Cameo. (Modern Gold Ring Setting) Half figure bust of Cleopatra to right. She is being bitten by the Asp. Her costume as well as the style of the gem is modern European, probably of the XVIIth century.
