The plate is painted red with a geometric design around the rim in black, red, and white. There is a design down the center of fishes in red and white. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior and a burnished finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color.
