Sommerville: Sard. Silenus. A fine antique intaglio. Gold Rings - Intaglios, Case GGG.

Vermeule: Sard. Intaglio. (Modern gold ring setting) Imitating an ancient ring. Silenus walking to right, a wreath and a staff in his extended hands. Graeco-Roman, the design paralleling that on terracottas of the period 50 B.C. - 150 A.D. Graeco-Roman.
