Description | Polished ceramic with red glaze (or paint?) and decoration in black paint. Pot is formed in shape of bird with the spout being formed as the bird's tail. Handle of pot is placed at center and top of pot in what would be the bird's back. Body of pot decorated with a scene including monkeys, birds, and hearts, flowers, and a woman. Paint on bird's head outlines bill and eyes. Two zig-zag lines run around the body of the pot. Cultural identification by Bob Hill. |
